When Ford Motor Co. executives decided they needed a car to carry the company into the future, they turned to a small, creative group in Irvine, California. Over the next year, designers produced the Ford Reflex - a three-passenger hybrid car with a three-bar grille, powered by three types of energy: diesel, electric and solar.
